Study of the Solukhumbu region - Himalayas (Nepal)
Interdisciplinary field work
Together with journalist Alejandro Romero and aid worker and psychologist Yolanda Ruiz, I participated in conducting a structural study on the economic, political, and social situation of the Solukhumbu region in the Himalayas (Nepal). The study focused on understanding the development challenges and opportunities in high-altitude mountain communities, with particular attention to factors affecting health, education, local governance, and the sustainability of livelihoods.
During the fieldwork, we conducted in-depth interviews with key actors in the local communities, including doctors, teachers, spiritual leaders, and political authorities. We visited and documented remote villages such as Kenja, Chaulakarka, Goli, Namkeli, Deurali, Bandar, and Gomparara, where we gathered testimonies on living conditions, access to basic services, the effects of climate change, and internal migrations.
In addition to the qualitative research, I contributed to the audiovisual documentation of the process, creating photographic and video material that complemented the analysis and provided visibility to the local realities from a respectful and committed perspective with the communities.
